Welcome to First Baptist Saginaw Kids! At First Baptist Saginaw, we believe that Jesus is changing lives through KIDS! We believe that God deeply loves children and we want First Saginaw Kids to be a resource for parents to equip their children with the gospel of Christ. We see First Saginaw Kids as a source to disciple their children, revitalize their family, and transform their community. We want every child who enters First Saginaw Kids to experience the truth that Jesus loves them and that they are a vital part of God’s Big Story.

First Saginaw Kids meets in person every Sunday and provides a safe, joyful environment where children can grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Below you’ll find a list of classes available during each service so you can plan for your family with confidence.

What's happening at First Saginaw Kids

Sunday School

Consistent learning experiences are planned and Bible truths are reinforced through songs, Bible stories, and hands-on activities designed specifically for children.
For Babies-6th grade

Kid's Worship

Available during 2nd service (11:00). Kid's Worship is an age-appropriate kid's service where they get a hands-on bible lesson with worship and games. (Note: Kids Worship breaks for the summer months, and picks back up in August.)
For Kinder-3rd grade

Children's Choir

We learn about how to worship our God and we help lead worship throughout the year in “big church”.
During the school year for ages 2 years old – 6th grade.
La La Lambs (ages 2-3) & Ra Ra Rams (ages 3-Kinder) meet on Wednesdays @ 6:00-6:30 PM.
Kingdom Kids for 1st through 6th graders during Sunday School on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month!

Wednesday Night Programming

On Wednesday nights, we gather from 6:30–7:30 PM for a meaningful and engaging time designed to help kids grow in their faith. First Kids Midweek provides loving care and age-specific classes for:

Bridge 56: Preteen Ministry

During this hour, children explore God’s Word in deeper ways and discover how biblical truth connects to their everyday lives through intentional, age-appropriate teaching.

Awana

Sunday Nights at 4:55 pm
The acronym AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
For 3 years old (potty-trained)-6th grade

Special Events

Throughout the year, First Kids hosts special events designed to help families grow together while growing in the Lord. From seasonal celebrations to discipleship-focused gatherings, these moments create space for connection, encouragement, and shared faith experiences. Our heart is to come alongside parents as they lead their homes spiritually—and to make lasting memories along the way.

Awana @ First Baptist Saginaw

AWANA is a Christ-centered discipleship program for preschool through 6th grade, filled with high-energy games, engaging Bible lessons, and verse memorization. Kids grow in God’s Word while having fun and building lasting faith. Join us Sunday nights, 4:55–6:30 pm during the school year.
Clubs include Cubbies (ages 3–5, potty-trained; 3 years of age by Sept. 1st of current year), Sparks (K–2nd), and T&T (3rd–6th).

Puggles

Designed for our youngest learners, Puggles introduces toddlers to God’s love through simple Bible truths, songs, and play-based activities in a nurturing environment. This club is available only for children whose parents are serving as AWANA volunteers.

Cubbies

Cubbies helps preschoolers (ages 3–5) learn that God loves them and that the Bible is His Word through hands-on activities, verse memorization, games, and Bible stories. Children must be 3 years old by September 1 of the current year and be fully potty trained.

Sparks

Sparks is a high-energy club for Kindergarten–2nd grade that focuses on building a strong foundation of biblical truth. Kids learn key Bible verses while discovering who God is and how much He loves them—all through fun games, activities, and lessons.

T&T

T&T is designed for 3rd–6th graders and challenges kids to dig deeper into Scripture, understand how God’s Word applies to their lives, and begin owning their faith while continuing to memorize Scripture and build meaningful relationships.

TREK

Trek is an option for middle school students who want to continue in the AWANA program instead of Sunday Night youth activities. This club encourages students to explore Scripture more independently and apply biblical truth to everyday life as they grow in maturity and faith.
