Worship at FBC Saginaw

Music Ministry of the First Baptist Church

The scripture says, “God inhabits the praise of His people.”  It is our desire to help our fellowship truly experience God in both corporate and personal worship.

We hope that you can and will find the right place of service and a place where God can use your gifts and your heart.

Sanctuary Choir

The sanctuary choir bears the chief responsibility of leadership in worship each Sunday.  In addition to their weekly contributions to worship, the choir also hosts events at Christmas, Easter, and 4th of July.  Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm – 7:45pm.  Membership is open to all by informal interview.

Adult Ensembles (Praise Teams)

This small ensemble has a yearly rotation of 8 singers.  Membership requires evidence of a heart for God, active involvement in the sanctuary choir, solid attendance in worship, and good vocal blend with the other singers.

The Handbell ensemble enjoys ringing a wide variety of music styles and leads in worship on a regular basis.  The ensemble is made up of 12-13 ringers and rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the sanctuary.

Sanctuary Orchestra

The sanctuary orchestra leads in worship for special concerts and worship events at Christmas, Easter, and 4th of July.  Rehearsals are “as needed” and embership is open to adults and student players.

Children’s Choirs

Children’s choirs are active and fun.  They are open to children 4 years old-6th grade.  These choirs meet Sunday nights from 5:00pm – 5:45pm.

Youth Choir

Youth choir is a very active and energetic part of the music and youth ministry at First Baptist.  Youth Choir meets at 5:00pm on Sunday evenings. The choir is open to all 7th-12th grade students who enjoy fun music and who love hanging out with each other.  The year’s activities include a Christmas dinner theater, opportunities to lead in worship, and a summer mission trip.  Our past trips have included Iowa, Corpus Christi, Houston, and Sequim, Washington.
